The State Markets Board was created to aid in the marketing of agricultural produce in Ala. These minutes detail meetings of the Board, primarily regarding the construction of farmers' markets. Other subjects discussed include marketing of agricultural products, particularly in the area of grading, packing, and standardization. Gov. Sparks attended the organization meeting, held 1943 Aug. 24. The Board relied on the Cooperative Extension Service at Auburn for advice on purchasing and marketing.
